I am A Moveable Feast. Well… that sounds weird.
I’ve spent the last three and a half years eating and drinking my way across London, as well as other parts of the world. I love reading about food and restaurants and thought it was time I contributed something myself to help people like me decide where and what to eat.
I’ll aim to make my reviews interesting, entertaining and personal (or at least one of those three). I hope you enjoy them and that they help you find somewhere new and exciting to eat! Please do comment or send me an e-mail if you have any suggestions for the site or, more importantly, for places to eat.
A Little History
My love of good food started at university. Being just a poor Classics student, I had to find ways of affording this new, expensive habit. I took on jobs editing my professor’s textbooks and working in the town’s famous gelateria. I also started working in the kitchen of a pizzeria/chippie run by a grouchy Scottish-Italian man who would frequently chase customers out of the shop. Perhaps he wasn’t the best businessman (the shop closed just after I left), but he taught me a few things about food.
Firstly, that good food doesn’t need to be outrageously expensive. Secondly, that it is always worth paying attention to what you put in your stomach. And thirdly, that no matter how good a cook you are, there will always be someone out there who can do it better and is willing to risk their livelihood to feed you – so why not make the most of it!
